Connemara 12 Year Old Peated Single Malt hits the market.- 13/10/03

Cooley Distillery today introduced its unique 12 Year Old Connemara Irish Peated Single Malt Whiskey at the official opening of "The Celtic Whiskey Shop", 27-28 Dawson St., Dublin 2, by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Royston Brady.

Connemara by Cooley Distillery is the only peated single malt Irish whiskey in the world and the introduction of the 12 year old Connemara marks a further watershed in the development of Ireland's only independent Irish Whiskey Distillery.

It seems like only yesterday when John Teeling and Willie McCarter, both Irish students in Boston in 1970, were doing their "field work" on Irish whiskey in a bar called "The Plough & The Stars" in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Their work at that time, John Teeling at Harvard, and Willie McCarter at MIT, led to the establishment of Cooley Distillery with a dedicated band of 350 shareholders and employees.

Today as the only independent Irish whiskey distillery in the world Cooley produces the beautiful single malt whiskies- Tyrconnell, Locke's & Connemara -a little TLC from Cooley Distillery.

Cooley also distills a wonderful range of Irish classic whiskey blends - Locke's, Kilbeggan, Millars and Inishowen, as well as a set of speciality products.

12 Year Old Connemara is the only Irish peated single malt whiskey in the world.
